Trisomy Awareness Day 6

Trisomy Awareness Day 6, featuring William!

William was a surprise pregnancy. Everything was good till the maternal
serum test. It came back as positive for trisomy 18. I refused the
amniocentesis because of the risks. I put into god’s hands. We thought all
was good because the markers weren't there in ultrasounds. The doctor was
very in compassionate and I switched doctors. I was told that he was going
to be an average weight. I was measuring great.
William was born march 10, 2010. He was 6 pounds 2 ounces and 19 inches
long. We had a difficult time feeding and the hospital was no help. His
pediatrian has been a god send on helping William. We have multiple
specialists to avail. We finally had the chromosome test done in December.
Which came back as a duplication of 6p23-6p22.3. As of yet they have not
given me any information.

William is almost 3 years old. He weighs 22 pounds 4 ounces. He has
tactile defensiveness and vestibular issues. He is a year delayed on
speech. His bones are growing at different rates. He was early to roll
over but did not sit on his own till about 7 months. He crawled at 13
months. He did not walk till 26 months.
